No woman should go through the guilt and regret of an abortion. The loss effects her health, self-esteem, relationships, and leaves a wound that only God can heal. Life is a miracle, any fool can take a life (kill) but the wisest among us cannot give it back.

The family unit is the simplest and most important unit in society. Without the family, everything falls apart. That includes our government, schools, neighborhoods and yes, even our churches. I am the father of four boys and married to their mother for over 56 years. A family takes a lot of work, but it is worth it both for my sake and the world around me.

Government is a service that produces no products. Although government is necessary it tends to grow to a point of destroying productivity. The bigger it gets, the less accountable it becomes.

Education is a tool for our growth, our jobs, and our pursuit of fulfillment. If we can teach a child to read, write and do arithmetic, with a little encouragement, that child can teach themselves anything. Without the tool of reading, children can’t read instructions, read a pattern, read a recipe, read the warnings or traffic signs. Without learning to aptly write in order to communicate thoughts, ideas, music, poetry or the ability to apply arithmetic to make change, pay bills, balance a checkbook, plan a budget, etc., you kill the child’s hope for any good future. So let’s give kids the tools they need to succeed.

I came to Helena Montana, in the fall of 1970, bought my home in 1975. I am a Montanan by choice! And although I am an American (having lived in Michigan, California, New York, Illinois, Ohio and Texas) Montana must come first.

Our United States Constitution guarantee us the right to bare arms, not for hunting but for defense both of our person and our nation.

During the time I was attending Helena Vo-Tech, I ran my own “LEACH REFRIGERATION” business. Running a business is a difficult thing to do. Not just making the customer happy but also meeting all of the OSHA safety, permitting, licenses, insurance, taxes (sometimes city, county as well as state and federal). But I learned a lot and respected my employer a lot more.

I am a Conservative. I believe in being responsible and holding others responsible. And if I can’t afford to buy it, I do without. I promise to spend your money the same way and hold other accountable too.

At 17 years old I joined the U.S. Army as a wheel vehicle mechanic. After completing basic and Advanced Individual Training (AIT) in the top 1% of my class the Army deployed me to Germany as the Berlin wall had just been built. Once in Germany, I served with the 533rd Ordnance Company and 10th Ordnance Company as a mechanic, parts expeditor and was the major parts assembly clerk in Hanau Germany area. In 1964, after having served 31 months in Germany, I returned to Fort Dix New Jersey where my Army contract ended. I support all service members and will protect their freedoms.
